Dustin Pedroia is Still My Honorary Wiffle Ball Captain

Ok, so I promised a photoriffic travel recap today. And then I couldn’t find my CF card reader. And then the dog ate my homework, which is a pretty impressive feat when you realize that summer school doesn’t start until tomorrow.

(That Gracie, she’s a husky of many talents).

In lieu of photos of palm trees, I present you with a photo of me with Tim Wakefield:

The astute observers among you have probably noticed that this photo is rather blurry. No, we were not photographed in front of a badly photoshopped background. I got to meet Mr. Wakefield at work last week (I told you my new job was awesome!). And I’m not so sure that I want people to know where I’m working these days.

I’m also not so sure I want to spend more than a few minutes gaussian blurring my way to (relative) anonymity.

The bad photochopping does look rather silly though..

So much better, right? We look a lot more dignified.

Tim Wakefield, I am pleased to report, seems like a rather nice fellow. I only got a few seconds with him (me: “nice to meet you.” TW: “thank you.”). But I can say with some certainty that he is not a total asshole.

I must admit, however, that I still hold out hope for someday playing whiffle ball with Dustin Pedroia.
