A New Woman!

Tuesday afternoon, my Mom watched Lilian so that I could (finally) see my stylist and get my hair cut and colored. I hadn’t seen him since June. June! As you can see, I was the very embodiment of a before and after photo spread.

Before...

After!

Now if only he could do something about those circles under my eyes…

As if getting my hair under control wasn’t enough, Lilian slept from 10:30pm to 5:30am last night! I went to bed around 11:30pm, which means that I got six hours of uninterrupted sleep last night. I haven’t had six hours of uninterrupted sleep since, oh, June. To say that I feel like a new woman would be the understatement of the year.

How did we accomplish this miracle? We had dinner at Pepper’s house, put Lilian in her carrier when she was asleep, drove home, and we left her in it to sleep next to her co-sleeper. She slept almost through the night last time we let her sleep in her carrier, so apparently she really likes to sleep in that thing. I’m seriously tempted to start putting her in it at night, but that seems like a really great way to set her up for sleep problems in the future.

Hey, I’m just happy to be feeling so well-rested right now.

I celebrated by going on my first jog since, well, June.

Jeez Mom, I thought you could run faster than that!

Lilian’s doctor told me last week that she was ready to go in a jogging stroller. And today I felt ready for jogging, so I busted out the Bob Ironman that I found on craigslist oh so many moons ago.

I’m still working my way back into fitness, so I decided to do the Couch to 5K program. I downloaded the app for my iPhone and started at the first workout, week 1 day 1. It was rather humbling to start at the very beginning of a program designed for couch potatoes, but I know that starting off slow is what’s going to keep me from hurting myself.

All in all, I’m feeling pretty great right now.

PS. This afternoon, I cleaned the first floor of our house like I was a meth-head with a tweaker project. My goal is for Kristian to come home and say “Holy @%$@%$#!! What happened to our house?!?!” THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET SIX HOURS OF UNINTERRUPTED SLEEP! Just imagine what I could do with eight! You should help me get more sleep. Hint. Hint. (Hint).
