On Thursday morning, we find out if Gummy Bear has girl bits or boy bits. Personally, I am dying of curiosity. You’re probably not as excited as I am, but I thought I’d make this a little extra fun with a contest. So, leave a comment with your prediction (boy/girl/none of the above). I’ll randomly pick one of the people who got it right and send them a $10 gift card to Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks or the independent coffee shop of their choice.
(Let me live vicariously through your caffeine intake!)
Allow me to confuse you/help you with your guessing by giving you a little extra information. None of the following has any scientific/medical relevance, but hey, it can’t hurt.
- My morning sickness was never all that bad, but I was completely exhausted for the duration of my first trimester.
- We have a girl’s name pretty much wrapped up, but are completely lost when it comes to boys’ names. (In my mind, this pretty much guarantees that we will be having a boy)
- I have this odd feeling that it’s a boy.
- But I have been wrong about the gender of pretty much every baby where I’ve tried to guess in the past.
- No significant food cravings, with the exception of a two week period right at the beginning where I positively fiended for melted cheese in all of its many, glorious forms.
If you’d like to use your x-ray specs, this is the current state of my belly:
If you have a particular Old Wives’ Tale that you put great stock in, list it in the comments and I will attempt to try it and let you know the results.
Thursday can’t come soon enough!

I’m going with boy.
I’m going with Girl, because I could have written all those bullet points myself during Lil C’s pregnancy!! *I still am 10 for 10 with being wrong though, so we’ll see if the streak continues* yay for finding out soon!
Girl, for no other reason than that was the first thing that came to mind.
She’s a lady (whoa whoa whoa)
Hmmm. Have you had a lot of heartburn, even without much morning sickness?
Has your butt grown: A) Not much; B) A little; C)More than you expected?
Have you tried the old suspended needle trick? Thread a needle and then, while you hold the thread, let the needle hang down over your palm. Tell me if the needle begins to sway back and forth in a straight line or begins to turn in a slow circle over your palm.
These questions cover any old wives’ tale I’ve heard.
I had a couple of days of heartburn at the start of the 2nd trimester and then none since then. I’ll have to find a needle when I get home tonight!
I am guessing it’s a unicorn!
I’m going to guess a boy!
I’m going to go with girl!
Just for the sake of guessing, I’ll say boy. But it could be a girl. Nah, a boy.
Whatever the case, I have a 50% chance of being right!
And a 50% chance of being wrong.
🙂
hmmmmm. i can’t really decide but i’m going with boy for the sake of the game 🙂
Boy!
Boy.
This is a tough one…OMG, so cool you will find out the sex already!!! Anyways, I will participate in the contest by answering: BOY! 🙂
I think it’ll be a boy. Name him Keith. Great strong name. Monosyllabic so you can shout it quickly when he’s causing trouble, which lets face it, he’ll definitely be. Keith was originally Scottish and probably came from a form of ‘coillte’ or ‘ceiteach’, meaning “woods”. Keith is a Scottish clan, the current head of which is the Earl of Kintore. Famous Keiths include Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, The Who drummer Keith Moon and country music singer Keith Urban.
Boom. Done.
A boy with Ox baker’s eyebrows and mustache
Now, that’s a scary thought!
Dude looks like a lady! Lol. I’m getting the girl vibe. But you would do awesome with a unicorn, so that would be my 2nd choice. Beware of placing too much faith in ultrasounds tho…….one of my godsons came home in a dress because he was SURE to be a girl…until, as the doctor put it, “visual tests don’t lie!” And yes, we harass him about it to this day, 25 years later. 😉
PS….LOVE the boots!
I’m guessing girl because your bullet point list is basically the same as what I thought and wasn’t I surprised when Rachel was born and the nurse said “It’s a princess!”
So, let me change that guess to “princess.”
A princess would be almost as good as a unicorn!!!
Note to self: bring a gender neutral outfit to the hospital for Gummy Bear to wear home. :p
My sister gave me the boots. I loves them!
The OB gave me a referral for the ultrasound with a specific window and then I asked the scheduler to give me a date right at the beginning of the window! :p
So I want you to have a boy because I love all these boys that are going to be good friends and great frisbee players – so I am guessing boy – but if I could ask a couple of questions:
1) Dreams – dreaming of a boy or a girl…
2) Leg hair – do you have less than you did before you were pregnant?
Regardless VERY excited for you!!!!!!!!!!
I vote girl
Cheese!! Yummy!! Though I guess that’d be weird if you felt like gummy bears 🙂 It’s a boy! Cheese and peanut butter were my staples with Julian!
Just wanted to add that Greg thinks it’s a GIRL!
Another add… against all the odds (my strong intuition of a girl, cravings for citrus fruits big time, esp. in the 1st trimester, fetal heart rate on the high end etc) it is a boy. Do the old wives tales are crap…the only truth comes from seeing what’s between the legs…lol:) Have fun at the ultrasound!!! <3
I say a boy. Cause that’s all I know.
First off, I can’t count the amount of times I’ve refreshed your Facebook today to see if you’ve posted yet. I’m guessing girl because I had a dream about you saying you were pregnant once and it was a girl then. It’s extraordinary how much I love this baby already. 🙂
