Go Pats!

I took my Dad to his very first ever NFL game today.

I was nervous that it wouldn’t be much of a game. The Pats had already locked in the top playoff seed in their conference and the Dolphins were already out of the playoffs.

I shouldn’t have worried.

Highlights of the game:

  • A beautiful Devin McCourty interception.
  • Julian Edelman running back a punt for 96 yards, a touchdown, and a Patriots record.
  • Brian Hoyer (the Pats backup QB whose normal job is carrying around a clipboard for Tom Brady) scoring his first ever NFL touchdown.
  • Vince Wilfork crushing the Dolphins QB with not one, but two monster sacks (it would have been three without a BS roughing the passer call).
  • BenJarvus Green-Ellis (aka Law Firm) rushing for over 1000 yards in a season.
  • Making friends with everyone around us, giving out high fives and cheering our asses off.
  • Watching my Dad become almost giddy with glee, he was having so much fun.

Beans was at the game as well, but she had much better seats than us. And she made it up onto the Jumbotron! She didn’t even notice it at first. She said to herself, “Hey that girl has my hat!” I, of course, was telling everyone in my section, “Hey! That’s my friend!” Because, you know, random football fans care that my friend is on the Jumbotron.

And now, after a day spent out in the cold, I am feeling very tired. I can only imagine how I’d feel if I’d had any beers at the game today. My post would probably look something like:

That’s what it look like when my face bounces off the keyboard a few times.

So, you know, the usual quality around here.
