More On “The Yellow Dress”

Some of you have said that you don’t think that the yellow dress looks that bad. To that I say, my vanity kept me from posting some of the less flattering pictures. I suppose that I will have to swallow my pride. Here is the dress in all of its “making me look two sizes bigger” glory:

I feel like it’s at that awkward state between nicely fitted and really pouffy. It actually looked really good when I was dancing, because the fabric puffed out and looked pretty. Hanging loosely, it blouses out before you get to the narrowest part of my waist. Stacy and Clinton would probably kill me for wearing it.

I’m torn, because I paid a little more for it than I normally would have spent on a dress, because I was planning on wearing it to multiple weddings. So, now I feel like I have to wear it. But, I’m also very, very vain. Gah! I’m thinking that it might be cuter if it hit me just about the knee. I don’t know, it might we worth taking to a tailor and asking them to make it look better on me.

I bought a little green cardigan that should look ok with either dress. So, I guess I have until Saturday to decide.

  1. My student worker and I agress- go with blue. it looks good! top half of yellow is very very flattering, but bottom half is very not. blue is more for a devember wedding anyway!

  2. also we have decided that the problem is the waist, if the waist started lower it would look much less hippy 🙂

um, and yes, this is TOTALLY what we pay our student workers to do, why do you ask?

  3. I like the blue too!! And agree with Liza and her student worker that blue is more of a december wedding color.

  4. I would say the darker dress for winter. What a shame about the fit of the yellow dress; it looks like it has so much potential but needs to be just a bit longer in the bodice.

  5. OK, I still think you look adorable, and those shoes are too cute, but that would bother me too. That’s why I had my wedding dress taken in through the hips.

Can we see a picture of the blue one now?

  6. I meant “now”, as in you said the dress fits differently now than it did in the pic you posted earlier. So, how does it fit/look now that its too big?
