My hair was getting shaggier than a poodle’s. So, I decided that it was time to get a cut. I usually go to a place in Cambridge and the guy gives great cuts… but he’s, well, a bit of a douche bag. Quite the douche bag, really. When I’m feeling confident and happy, I actually do enjoy his haircuts. He’s pretty funny, definitely what you would call a character. But, he has a fairly acerbic wit and he tends to make me feel somewhat uncomfortable.
I’ve been feeling pretty fragile lately, so I decided that I didn’t need that kind of awkwardness. So, I broke up with him. But, I totally pulled a dude and just stopped calling. I figured he’d get the message, eventually. And then I went out and find someone else. Someone younger, cuter and whose salon has free brownie bites in the waiting room.
I’d say that she does nice work:

I asked her for 1960’s era bombshell. With some volume, but not too pouffy. She pretty much nailed it. The price of the cut included a blowout, so I let her break out the hairdryer. I should have my hair blown out more often! I felt like a supermodel.
Too bad I suck at blowing out my own hair.
Today I am back to my natural curls, but it’s rainy and I ran out of my usual curl product. So, I will have to reserve judgement on how it looks in its natural form until the weather gets better and I can make a run to the store.
I am certainly pleased so far.
I like it!
Oh hey I really like it! You look fabulous! π
Love it!
I am the only one that gets nervous about breaking up with a hairdresser? I’m always paranoid I’ll run into them somewhere and it will be awkward…
love it!
You look marvelous, sweetie! Great haircut and brownie bites — that salon’s a keeper.
I’m so sad. I’m missing seeing your father by a single day. He leaves J & P’s on Saturday; I don’t get there until Sunday. π
I love it!
THis week was the week of hair cuts. I got mine done last night!
Love it!!!
I need to get a trim, but am feeling guilty because my hairdresser isn’t the one doing my hair for the wedding and well can we say awkward. So I think I’m going to have to sneak to another salon.
