We’re still waiting on confirmation that Gummy Bear is, in fact, a girl. But, in the meantime, I’m referring to her as “she.” Which means that I’m going to need some serious readjusting if they find some dangly bits on our next ultrasound.
Gummy and I are both doing well. Although I must admit that she appears to be doing much better than me. For the most part, I feel pretty good but I’m having some nasty pains (of the TMI variety) that pretty much left me sedentary all weekend. It hurts to lift anything heavier than a few pounds, it hurts to move in just the wrong way, it hurts to stand for too long, it hurts to walk. Needless to say, running or other gym-related activities are currently out of the question. I felt so bad on Saturday, I actually skipped prenatal yoga. I have a call in to my doctor to find out what my activity options are, because sitting on my rump for the next five months is pretty much guaranteed to drive me steadily mad.
In better news, Gummy consistently measures just where she’s supposed to be. All of her ultrasounds measurements were perfect, which led to the following conversation:
Ultrasound Tech: All of her measurements are perfect.
Me: My baby’s perfect!
Ultrasound Tech: Her measurements are perfect.
Me: Perfect baby!
Ultrasound Tech: Ok, whatever, crazy lady.
The doctor confirmed at our appointment last week that everything is measuring on track. In fact, she was pleased as punch with my weight gain. She told me that I could even eat a little more if I’m feeling deprived (Spoiler alert! I’m not feeling deprived. At all). Apparently, I am her only patient that she has had to say this to. I’m also her only patient to have run a half marathon while 11 weeks pregnant, which is probably not a coincidence. I really hope that I can get back to the gym soon.
In other news… look who is starting to get a belly!
I’m still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeggings, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they’re not going to fit for much longer. Good thing I picked up some more maternity clothes from a friend this weekend! I have been pleasantly surprised by the kindness of my friends in doling out hand-me-downs. I was convinced that I’d end up buying an entire maternity wardrobe, and I’ve only had to buy a few pieces for work. I am incredibly lucky to have such lovely friends.

You. Look. Freaking. Adorable.
You look amazing!!! I’m sorry you’ve been in so much pain – I know how active you are, and how hard it must be. But I’ll bet you have plenty of awesome stuff to watch!
The belly suits you. So does the big smile š
You are the cutest pregnant lady!
Thank you!!
Well, there are apparently seven seasons of Supernatural and they’re all on Netflix. So, if I do end up couch bound, I won’t get bored.
I’m glad I made Kristian take a second one with a decent smile. :p
Thanky!!
Yeah, one thing Supernatural is not is boring. I can’t wait to talk to you about how the HECK they got the rights to all those classic rock songs!!!
I was gonna save it for my maternity leave, but once I clear Psych off of our tivo, it’s on to Netflix!
Does the doctor have an idea why you’re experiencing pain?
Ditto everyone else’s comments about you and your enhanced pregnancy adorableness!
Yup, and she gave me a referral to PT to help with it. So, hopefully it will get better!
You look adorable! And very happy. š
