When choosing a primary source to write up for class, don’t choose one that is eighteen pages long. Especially don’t choose an article that is an eighteen page diatribe from a noted Conservative (in this case, Jean Kirkpatrick). Forcing yourself to read page after page of dictatorship apologism when you are tired and want to go to bed will cause your blood pressure to spike and your blood to boil. If you’re not careful, you could end up with your ears bleeding.
This effect will be greatly exacerbated if you attempt to watch a Red Sox/Yankees game while writing up your summary. Especially if it is a back and forth game where the Red Sox starting pitcher is on your fantasy baseball team and gives up a lot of runs. And only strikes out two batters. Effectively tanking your standing in the ERA and WHIP categories.
You will feel better every time A-Rod grounds out, but the effect will only be temporary and you will have to return to Ms. Kirkpatrick and her fetish for non-democratically elected (but pro U.S!) regimes. You will read her hollow excuses and you will die a little on the inside.
If you fail to follow my advise and you end up reading “Dictatorships and Double Standards” while your boyfriend sleeps soundly and your favorite baseball team self-destructs, I highly recommend that you resist the urge to blog about it.
Ok, now I’m just confused. I’m sorry you had to read that! That sucks. I’m sooooo glad I don’t have to read that crap anymore! Good luck with it!
