Number 27: Surprise Someone With a CARE Package

Well, I’m *gulp* going to be 30 in a week and I’m pretty far behind on my list. Somehow, this whole wedding planning business managed to take up a bunch of my time. I have no idea how that happened. It’s shocking, really. The good news is, I did most of the cool stuff. A lot of what’s left is filler.

I also did a bunch of things on the list and forgot to write them up. Like, say, number 27 on my list. Which was to surprise someone with a CARE package.

I decided to send my niece and nephew a little package, just to remind them about how much their Auntie Hope loves them. I was lucky enough to get several opportunities to visit them last summer and I was feeling a little sad that I didn’t get down to NYC for a visit this time around. Plus, I have a reputation to uphold. You don’t become the World’s Greatest Aunt EVAR by slacking.

I sent them a couple of finger puppets and a little plastic husky. Because finger puppets are awesome. And everyone could use a little husky in their life.

I sent the package at the beginning of the summer (like I said, I’m running a wee bit behind). So I sent them a bunch of stuff that they could play with outside.

Water balloons, sideboard chalk and a magnetic mosaic kit.
