Wedding Recap

The wedding yesterday was beautiful and a lot of fun. My penance for buying a new dress instead of wearing one from my closet is that there was another girl there wearing the same dress. Also, after looking at the pictures, I apparently looked like a gigantic hersheys kiss. I steadfastly maintain that I only looked like a hersheys kiss when the flash bounced off of my dress, lighting up the silver part underneath. I swear, I looked fabulous in person.

Kristian tells me that I looked gorgeous and we all know how unbiased he is.

This is us after we got home because we were flaky and forgot to ask someone to take our photo at the party. Don’t we look good enough to eat?

This is me with my “twin.” We had a lot of fun dancing together, even if she did rip the bouquet right out of my hand during the toss. Seriously. I had it in my hands and then it was gone. There were red roses everywhere. I guess that she really did want it! I suppose that this means that I won’t be getting married anytime soon. :p

Who knew that women could go so crazy over a bunch of flowers?

The heathen table was a lot of fun. The other two couples were really nice and we had a great time talking about photography. Of course, the Happy Couple ran out of heathens, so they put us with two couples from their church. Which was fine, Christians can be a lot of fun, as evidenced by all of the booty shaking that went on after the dancing started. Unfortunately, one of the girls at our table didn’t get the message and she made a rather foot-in-mouth comment. Oops.

Kristian is notorious for doing whatever it takes to avoid the dance floor. Luckily for him, I found a suitable replacement… a six year old girl. That little girl wore me out! We danced together all afternoon. Even the slow dances. Kristian didn’t have to set foot on the dance floor. Unfortunately, everyone else left our table early, so the poor guy sat by himself for quite some time. I am a terrible girlfriend. Note to self: pack a gameboy in your purse for the next wedding we go to.

The tables at the reception featured some very lovely glass bowls with beta fish swimming in them. I thought that they made for lovely centerpieces, especially as the fish didn’t seem to mind.

At the end of the afternoon we ended up being able to take a fish home. His name is Klaus and he is currently living in our office, where the warmth of our computers will hopefully offset the low numbers on our thermostat. He’s gone from hiding at the bottom of his bowl to swimming lackadaisically, so I think that he should be ok.

  1. Love the dress! You guys are so cute. Your “twin” is a little bouquet crazy, I can see she’s got hold of someone’s arm.

  2. Yes your “twin” did seem rather “enthusiastic” about the bouquet toss…I love the dress, you both look fabulous! And by both I mean you and Kristian.
