Not only am I behind on my quilting, I’m also behind on posting pictures of my quilts. I’m currently working on a quilt for a baby who has already been born. I expect it to be done before she heads off to college… if she gets kept back a few times.
Luckily, being behind on posting pictures is a lot easier to rectify.
Here is the jungle quilt that I made for my friend Jeff’s son, Nathan:
Jeff and his wife love monkeys, so I made sure to feature them prominently:
My grandmother, who taught me to quilt, loves giraffes. I was psyched to be able to include them as well:
I was able to find matching flannel for the back of the quilt. Soft and coordinating. Score:
This next quilt was for a friend who had her daughter, erm, last November. In my defense, I decided to make her a quilt several months after the fact. I wasn’t making baby quilts when she had her baby, but once I started making them I realized that she would have been on the list. So, I made her one to use for tummy time. I just love the Paddington fabric that I found!
Note to self, iron quilts before photographing:
The Paddington boots just might be my favorite fabric of all time:
Cute and educational:
The number blocks didn’t form the right shape (it would have been too skinny with two columns of five), so I added a column of appliqued letters:
I think that it’s a good sign that every quilt that I’m working becomes my favorite as I’m making it. Hopefully, I’ll have new photos to post soon!

OMG so cute! I really wish I could quilt – these are adorable!
Hello Hopers,
I saw your comments about Dog Meets World on Lacey’s blog – Perks of being a JAP. Thanks so much for the kind words about our new effort to give photographs to the children of the world. The big push now is to attract participants (aka Phodographers) – anyone who travels in developing world for any reason and supporters – anyone who values photographs in their lives. Please help us spread the word (tell your friends/family, blog about it, become a fan on facebook, etc).
Please seriously consider making a $30 donation! You will get a Foto dog of your own and the project will become real for you. It’s an adorable dog to show others about DMW or give as a gift with meaning or use when you become a phodographer!
If you would like to get involved in anyway or learn more about how to become a Phodographer, please email carolyn@dogmeetsworld.org
Thanks for seeing the big picture in the little picture!
Carolyn
Oh my God! That is awesome! I need to learn how to quilt one of these days.
Both of those are adorable, but I really love the Paddington one. It’s too cute!
I really admire people that can quilt, the patience to get it to completion is impressive enough, but how beautiful they came out is even better. I love the Paddington one too!
Nathan loves his quilt…he thinks it’s the BEST QUILT EVER! 😀 He uses it all the time when he’s playing on his rainforest playset and looks forward to sleeping under it when he’s a little bit older. WhoooOO! Thanks Hope!
