Ok, so I have a shiny album in my hand and now I’d like to get out there and promote the shit out of it. To that end, I need to find some venues that are stupid smart enough to have me come and play there. No venue is too small or too dingy for me. In fact, I kindof like small and dingy. It suits me.
I have a show in Saxtons River, VT this weekend and I’ll have a big CD release party in Boston in the next month or so. But, I need other places to play.
And that’s where all you lovely internet people come in.
I’d like to come to your home town! But I’d like something from you first. Specifically, I will need:
- The name of at least one venue that would be amenable to having me get up in front of a microphone and sing my little heart out.
- The promise that you will come to my gig and bring at least three friends. (playing to an empty room makes me a sad panda) You are free to bring as many friends (or foes) as you’d like. Bonus points if they all buy my CD instead of downloading it from the Pirate Bay.
- A few weekends that will work for you to come to the aforementioned venue with your aforementioned friends
- A couch for my BF roadie and I to sleep on and the promise that you will not defenestrate or disembowel us while we sleep.
- The promise that you will hype my gig on your blog (if you have one) or with your friends (if you don’t).
That’s pretty much it. I’m mostly looking for places within driving distance of Boston… but I’m willing to go farther if the gig is good, the crowd is plentiful and someone promises to buy me some girlie drinks when my set is over. I’m even more likely to go farther if you can make a case for how much fun your city is.
I’m probably going to be in New Orleans in April and California in May, so those places can easily be added to the “tour.” I would definitely like to play in NYC at some point. Really, any big city with a decent music scene and fun things to do while I’m there could be added to the list.
I could possibly be convinced to add an international gig or two to the mix, if we wait for this summer. If this is the case, I will definitely need a couch. Possibly breakfast as well.
It will probably be just me and my guitar, so I would prefer not to share a bill with some hard rocking band, unless I go on first. If any of you are musically inclined and would like to collaborate for a show, I would be totally down for that. Please feel free to leave comments or drop me an email with your suggestions.
When are you going to New Orleans? At the moment, we are planning on going in April. We could actually meet in real life! Maybe. And, we just happen to have a friend who manages a bar there.
I would say you should come here, but it’s a pretty long trip, and fun/exciting does not describe our lovely little town.

Find a gig on the Cape in August and the Pastafarians will pack the place.
The travel is a little more than you had in mind, but we can meet all your other Ts and Cs!
