Snow Day Without the Snow

Dear Boston Area Meteorologists:

Thank you so much for your chicken little impression about this impending “snow storm.” Were it not for you, I would be at work right now, working. Instead, I am at home, not working. Funnily enough, I seem to prefer not working over working. Crazy, right?

Well, that’s not entirely true, I am doing some work. But, you know what? Any work gets a million times more pleasant when you are sitting on the couch all wrapped up in blankets. With access to the tivo. And a couple of kitties to keep you company. Of course, I’m not so enthused about my easy access to the  approximately 18 hojillion cookies in my kitchen (cookies that I have no business eating, but am sorely tempted to nom nom nom). Or the fact that Kristian took my laptop charger with him to work.

We all have our crosses to bear, I suppose.

So, now that I have reaped all of the benefits of the impending doooooom, I am seriously hoping that it doesn’t snow that much. I’d actually be ok if it didn’t snow at all. Because, you see, I have an important schedule of truffle making and party attending to adhere to this weekend. And I’m not all that excited about the idea of driving around in crappy weather.

Of course, now that I’ve said that, I see flurries outside.

I have blog jinxed myself!

It’s ok, Kristian and I have a cozy evening planned. We bought all of the ingredients last night to make some fondue, and we have some Netflix movies that we haven’t watched yet. I’ve been buying supplies for Christmas as I think of them, so I have a few projects to keep me busy if we get snowed in. I’m not particularly looking forward to shoveling out my truck (I can only imagine that the bed will fill up completely), but at least it’s good exercise.

Who knows? I might finally get a chance to use my snowshoes!

What is the weather supposed to be like where you are? Do you have any fun snow plans?

  1. Hey, at least Boston chicken little impressions are better than Washington DC chicken little impressions. When Meteorologists do that down here it causes mass panic and a stampede to the local grocery store to buy bread and milk. We usually only get an inch of snow…which means driving in DC is DOOOOOOM! I think they have switched from flurries to rain in these here parts…hopefully it will stay like that!
