Sweet sassy molassy I am tired.
Kristian is on pager duty this week from 1am to 8am. That means that at any moment, from 1am to 8am… the stupid thing can go off and he has to get up and help someone. And I get to wake up and shake my fist at the nameless, faceless person who caused the stupid pager to play the Queen of the Night Aria from The Magic Flute. I used to kindof like that song. Not anymore, that’s for damn sure. Now I know it for what it is… the most evil song ever created… designed to cruelly wake me up from my dreams and make me cranky all day.
This is how tired I am people. I have become paranoid enough to believe that dead composers from hundreds of years ago wrote songs just to piss me off. Someone please take that god damn pager away from Kristian before I wake up in a tinfoil hat, hiding in my bathroom and muttering how you’re all out to get me. I already know that you’re all out to get me. But it’s ok, I forgive you.
Anyways, this is as good a time as any to say that next time Kristian has pager duty, he will be able to sleep on our couch so it won’t be a big deal.

EDIT: I should say that all of this pagery crap is much harder on Kristian than it is on me as he is the one that has to actually get up and help people at 4:30am and I just have to punch a couple of pillows and then I get to curl up with the cat and fall back asleep. I will give him that.
But he also has this crazy idea that when we are living together and he has pager duty, that I will be the one sleeping on the couch. Ha ha! The couch is for our kitties. The bed is for me. He can sleep in the bathtub. He’ll be protected by a nice thick layer of aluminum foil.
Good luck with that whole sleeping thing Hope. I sleep a lot less when Katharine has insomnia. The whole figeting thing…and then there’s that questioning, “are you awake? can you sleep?” yes and yes, but no…
Kristian is tres cute, Hope, and yes, you two are adorable together. Does that effective your essence of cool or do I get away with it because I’m an honorary aunt?
Sorry about the orange hurling in the street. It could have been worse. Really. Even if I can’t articulate a ‘for instance’ at the moment, I know that it COULD have been worse.
