She dragged her little stool halfway across the house in a vain attempt to get my new lip balm off of the counter and eat it.
“Dis my ice palace, mama” she said by way of an explanation.

She met our friend’s dog once, at a party all the way back in November. But, about ten times a day she asks us “wan’ see pictures Aki!” and sometimes we humor her and show her the one picture we have of the two of them.
I told my friend about this, and she texted me all the pictures of Aki that she had on my phone. “Hey Lilian, do you want to see a new picture of Aki?”
“Hello Aki,” she said, “how are ya? Good? Dis mama. Dat’s Uncle Dustin.”

Me, upon discovering her sitting in the middle of the bag of cat food she just dumped out, nonchalantly chomping on kibble: “Lilian Jane Sanchez!!!”
Lilian, unperturbed: “Mama Jane Sanchez!”

Lilian: *laughs maniacally*
Kristian: “Are you cracking yourself up?”
Lilian: “I funny!”

Lilian is at my mom’s house, mom is searching franticly for a lost item.
Lilian: “do you have a flashlight?”

Snuggling up in bed after I’d been gone most of the week at a training.
Lilian: “I missed you, Mama. Hold me close.”
