Saturday night, Beans, Kristian, J and I went to Game 6 of the ALCS championship series. In other words, we were there when the Red Sox clinched the ALCS Championship and made it to the World Series.
(Yay!)
I can’t say that our seats were as good as the last playoff game I went to.
But when it comes to the playoffs? There’s no bad seat in the house. There might have been a couple of teensy little poles in the way, but we could follow along just fine. And, really, it’s all about the experience of being there. I wrote last week about how amazing it is to be in the crowd for a playoff game. Well, this game? About a bazillion times more intense.
I’m still hoarse. I screamed my head off.
I was so glad to have Kristian there with me, because he is very tolerant of me jumping up and down, grabbing his shoulders, and yelling “Ohmygodohmygodohmygod I can’t take this anymore!!!!”
Pretty much the coolest thing that happened all night (except for the Sox winning, duuuuhhhhh) was (I believe) in the 8th inning. I turned to J and I said, “I’m gonna start a slow clap. Let’s make this happen.” And then we started clapping. And then the people around us started clapping. And then the whole freaking stadium started clapping. I turned to J in disbelief. Did this really happen?
The girl in front of us turned around and said, “Oh my god, I can’t believe that happened. You must feel so awesome right now.”
And then she high-fived me.
Because, yes, it was completely and utterly and completely awesome.
These guys? So totally owe me. :p
I actually had a chance to go to the first game of the World Series (hate me! you know you want to!), but I will be out of state on a business trip.
(Boooo!!!)
I’ll just be happy if I get to watch the Sox win. Even if I’m watching them by myself in a hotel room. :p
