Kristian left around 4am yesterday for a 6-day-long business trip. Which means, of course, that Lilian waited about 3 hours before she decided that today was a good day to start crawling for realsies. As in, you put her down, blink a couple of times, and she is very much not in the place where you left her. As in, oh crap I need to do more baby proofing. As in, I should probably start doing all of my bathroom business at work when she’s safely at daycare.

This is my penance for encouraging her fledgling efforts a couple of weeks ago when I was about to go on a business trip of my own. “Stop encouraging our baby to be mobile!” Kristian would yell. And, loving and supportive wife that I am, I would cackle and keep going.

She also popped out her first two teeth sometime this afternoon. Because, milestones. Why spread out the fun when you can totally freak your mother out when she arrives to pick you up at daycare?

At some point this week, I will probably order this.

And a little tin cup for her to rattle against the bars if she gets bored.
