Today is our one year wedding anniversary.
Can you believe that, in a year, we’ve gone from this…

(That is a profoundly terrible picture of me. I am far less puffy now).
I feel like I should say something all sentimental and mushy, but I keep typing out sentences and then deleting them. Everything that I come up with feels too trite, or too pat, or just plain silly. How do you put into words the way that you feel about the love of your life?
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here’s my attempt at padding this here blog post.
When we first started dating, Kristian promised me that he was interested in having kids some day. And then he was kind enough to let me hold him to that promise. And, as we’ve grown our family, I’ve fallen a little more in love with him, bit by bit, along the way. The way he took care of me when I was pregnant. The way he helped me through labor and delivery. The way he looked at our daughter when he held her for the first time. The way he changes diapers at five in the morning.
September 17th, 2011 feels like it was a lifetime ago. And it feels like it was just yesterday. I’m looking forward to many more September seventeenths. Hopefully, a lifetime of them.
I couldn’t have picked a better man to spend them with.
