Hire My Sister!

My sister, Allison Ray, is looking for a job in the Connecticut area. She’s moving back to the East Coast (yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!) so that her husband can get his PhD at UConn.

Allison currently works as an environmental monitor for a consulting firm in California. She makes sure that big electrical upgrade projects are compliant with all of the applicable local, state and national laws. She’s a little bit like the Lorax, but she speaks for the endangered species as well as the trees. Also, she would never shill for an SUV commercial.

Also, she’s pretty much totally awesome. And she looks seriously bad ass in a hard hat.

A few important facts that you should know about Allison:

  • She has a Master’s Degree in biology.
  • She can give you the name (both common and scientific) of pretty much any plant you point to.
  • She has excellent project management skills, focus, and attention to detail (I suppose you could say that OCD like tendencies run in the family).
  • She’d be willing to drive to Boston if the job was good enough.
  • Conversely, she’d be willing to do general agricultural/farm/landscaping work if it was local and the job was decent.
  • She’d also be interested in a more general variety of environmental job, it doesn’t have to be construction monitoring.
  • She has so many certifications, I can’t list them all here.
  • A strong work ethic tends to run in our family and Allison is no exception.

I doubt that many of you readers are construction types who work on big power projects, but if you are, please send me an email and I will give you her resume and contact information. I am hoping that she might benefit from a “friend of a friend” type situation. So if you know anybody who works at a construction firm, consulting firm, environmental firm, engineering firm, environmentally oriented non-profit, plant nursery, landscaper, farm or any awesome place in the CT area that is currently hiring… send me an email and I will send you her resume and contact information.
