Welcome to 2006

Today’s post is brought to you by the letters A, B and C.

So, have you heard about this show called Lost? I hear that it’s all the rage with the kids these days. Quite the popular show, that Lost. Kristian and I, ever on the cutting edge of cultural trends, have just been getting into it this past year or so. We’ve slowly caught up, but we’re still about a season behind.

Do you know how easy it is to drive your coworkers nuts when, on Friday mornings, they go to say something about the previous night’s episode and you go, “uh uh uhhhhh…. I’m still on Season Three?” Oh man, it’s a brilliant torture method, even if I didn’t plan it out that way.

Hope Roth: unintentionally driving people up the wall since 1981.

I’m not entirely sure what the point of this post is, except that I told myself that I would continue with NaBloPoMo for April (even after failing in spectacular fashion on only my second day). So, I feel obligated to say something. Kristian is in the kitchen making homemade power bars (seriously, the depths of his awesomeness are unfathomable) and so I have to wait to watch another episode.

This is what my life has come to. Waiting for my boyfriend to finish making power bars so that we can watch another episode of a TV show. And I worry about the quality of our social life being affected if we move too far from the Red Line. Pffffft. We don’t have a social life to begin with!

That’s it, next weekend I am going to go out and get so shit-faced, I get alcohol poisoning. That’s what twenty-somethings do these days right? Drinking their alcohol drinks while dancing their hip-hop. It could be fun, if I manage to avoid breaking a hip.

  1. I have tried to get into this show. Everyone keeps telling me that it’s right up my alley with the whole mystery of the island angle. But I just can’t. And I finally figured it out; it’s airplane crash that I can’t get beyond. I’m slow, but I get there. Ultimately though with all of the shows I already watch, this might actually be a good thing…damn Tivo…whom I love.
