Happy Birthday, Allison and Christina!

Today is my little sisters’ 28th birthday. Which is crazy, because I could have sworn that I was still, like, 27 or something.

Seriously, though, the fact that my baby sisters have Master’s degrees and husbands should probably have tipped me off to the fact that they’re all growed up now.

See? Totally mature.

We didn’t always get along. Compared to us, Tom and Jerry were bosom buddies and that Wile E. Coyote just wanted to have a little fun with the Road Runner. But somewhere, somehow, at some point, we stopped stealing each other’s clothes and fighting like cats and dogs.

Moving to three completely different states might have had something to do with it.

At any rate, my sisters are now two of my very best friends (three of my very best friends, really, but it’s not Melissa’s birthday today) and I can’t imagine my life without them in it. We call each other constantly (Kristian calls it the sister phone tree) and I always know that I can count on them to cheer me up when I’m down, to never let me take myself too seriously and to remind me of all the embarrassing stuff that I did as a small child and teenager.

In my mind, they’ll always be the adorable little blonde twinsies that I grew up with. Although, I guess I’m glad that they’re not those small children anymore. Because they used to gang up to kick my butt something fierce.
