Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Between Christmas and pretty much the entire family being stricken with the nastiest stomach virus since the last time that I had a stomach virus (that one necessitated a trip to the doctor for an IV. this one simply involved a lot of puking and whimpering), things have been just a little bit crazy around here.
I have pictures of my nephew throwing confetti on Christmas Day. They are adorable. I promise to post them. As soon as I get home.
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention something? We’re in Denver for the week. Note to would-be robbers: we left our apartment guarded by dogs with bees in their mouths, so when they bark they shoot bees at you.
We’re here for my step-brother’s wedding and I couldn’t be happier. Well, I guess that I could be happier if I could shake the lingering stomach pains that still occasionally reduce me to whimpering. But, hey, our family is renting a house that comes with a hot tub (hot tub! hot tub!) and we are about to spend a fun little vacation hanging out with each other, culminating in a fabulous wedding where we will watch Jeremy marry a really and truly lovely woman.
Oh yeah, and there’s a spa trip in there somewhere. How could I have forgotten that?
Plus, if we ever get sick of my family, my buddy Kevin has given me a list of all the best bars in the area. There are enough names on the list to keep the drunkest of alcoholics happy. And there’s always the hot tub. Have I mentioned that there is a hot tub? I might have mentioned it. Like once or twice.
My step-dad’s sister is really ill and can’t make the trip, so I promised to take even more pictures than usual and send them all to her. She’s really devastated to not be able to see her nephew get married. I can’t blame her. Her loss is your gain, however, because I can only imagine that me taking “more pictures than usual” is going to be insane amount of photos. Many of which I will post here for your amusement.
I didn’t buy a new dress for the wedding (but I have a gorgeous shrug to go with my dress! handmade by Vicki), but I did buy a new dress that will be perfect for the post-wedding brunch. I promise many pictures of both outfits. Kristian almost had a stroke when he saw the price tag on the new dress (note to self: remove all tags from future purchases), but trust me when I say that it was worth every penny. Hot damn that thing looks good on me.
Did I mention the one thing that I forgot to pack? Ummm, yeah. Hope was an idiot and forgot to pack bras. How do you even do that? The mind. It boggles. I didn’t even wear a bra on the plane yesterday, as my tanktop had one built in. So, I am wearing that very same tank top today (all together now: ewwwwwwwwwww) and I predict some undergarment shopping in my future.
Right now, we’re just hanging out at the house that my family rented, waiting for everyone else to show up. My sister and step-sister are currently in car rental hell, waiting to pick up their reservations. Last I heard from them, there were about fifty people in line ahead of them. Every single one of them complaining (at length!) about how they wanted to rent an SUV. Uh, yeah, good look with that. We were never interested in renting an SUV, but I can tell you that they were all sold out when I made our reservation. In October. I know that it snows a lot in Colorado, but we’ve managed to drive around just fine in our mid-sized sedan. And it doesn’t even have snow tires! Learn to drive people and stop holding up the damn line.
More updates when I’ve done something more interesting than eating breakfast and taking a shower.
Very cute dress!
My hubby once forgot to pack shirts for a trip. He drove in just his t-shirt and completely forgot to put any other shirts in his suitcase. We had to hit the mall, gotta hate that!
Hope everyone feels better soon!
Can’t wait to see the pictures. 🙂
