If Hope Falls Down the Stairs and There’s No One There to See it, Does it Make a Sound?

I fell down our front stairs this morning. I put a foot on the top step, wiped out and slid all the way down to our front walkway. I believe that I bruised both my ass and my ego. PSA: It’s icy out there kiddies.

I tried to set off for work a second time, managed to make it down the steps by walking and not by flopping and promptly slipped (caught myself this time!) on our front sidewalk. After that, Kristian insisted on driving me in to work.

So, here I am, sitting on a butt that is getting more sore by the minute and wishing that I hadn’t ruined my muffin this morning when I dropped it as I was careening down our front stairs as a human toboggan. It should be an interesting day.

  1. OW! Sounds like you need some Advil and a cushion. And a peppermint mocha, cause that makes everything better.

  2. I almost fell twice walking on teh sidewalk. It’s ridiculous!

  3. Ouch! I feel your pain! I fell down the stairs at the gym. And to top it all off I was carrying a glass jar of chocolate ganache and all I could think of as I toppled down the metal stairs (really loud metal stairs) was dear god don’t let the jar break! Thankfully it didn’t, but my ego sure was bruised.

    Owie! Don’t do that!

  5. Yes, it is not at all a good day for walking. Or even standing outside, really. I stood in the wintry mix of despair for half an hour before my bus deigned to show up. Can we call a do-over on today?
