Today, I told someone that she was pregnant. As I am not currently (nor was formerly) an obstetrician, this was a new experience for me. What do you say to someone after that? Are you supposed to hug them? Offer up a handshake? Give them a hearty pat on the back? I settled for a “congratulations” with a bit of a question mark at the end. And a smile.
Why was I telling someone that she was pregnant? Her english, it’s not so good. So, she asked me to explain the directions on the test that she took. Which I did. Badly. So, finally, I asked her “Were there two lines?” After she answered in the affirmative, I told her that she’s pregnant.
That was just a little bit awkward.

Call it a hunch, but I’m thinking that our six mile run yesterday tired Gracie out a wee bit.

Despite having my gifts purchased, wrapped and placed lovingly under the tree, I can’t help but shake this feeling of dread. You know, where you have a sneaking suspicion that you’re going to wake up on Christmas Morning and go, “Oh noes! I forgot to buy something for grandma!” So, you have to run out and get something, anything, at a store that is still open, even on Christmas. Which is why Grandma ends up getting a package of twinkies and a bottle of anti-freeze from the gas station down the street.
Do you want to know why I have this feeling of dread? Because I finished my shopping ages ago and Kristian started his at about seven o’clock tonight.
Although he must have ordered something for me a couple of days ago. Because something arrived for him today that he was quite cagey about.
It better not be a Pap Smear.
I feel you on the shopping! I went shopping tonight, and I feel like I’m missing something.
Merry Christmas!
I am also full of dread, but that is because as soon as I have bought people’s gifts I begin to think that they will hate them and I’ve made a terrible mistake, or several. Obviously this is very healthy behavior. :-p
Merry Christmas!
Hope you have a great Christmas! I’m about 50 percent done shopping, it’s going to be a crazy afternoon.
