I’ve decided that I want to start making some baby onesies to sell on Etsy. I’ve also decided that cupcakes and rubber duckies are overdone. So, I need to come up with some awesome ideas for onesies that would be both cute and fun.
I would be doing these using applique, so simpler is best. But, I’m willing to put in a little more work if the idea is awesome.
I have a few ideas of my own, but I’d like to take advantage of crowd-sourcing for some additional ideas. Call me lazy if you will, I’m calling me smart! I’m going to take advantage of your delicious brains gather ideas in the form of a contest.
The rules are as follows:
- You can enter the contest by leaving a comment on this here blog entry. Enter as many times as you like.
- I will pick the top three ideas and those will be the winners. The prize will be a onesie of your choice (from any of the top three). If you don’t have a baby, know any babies or just plain hate babies, I will make you a pillowcase (or something of equivalent difficulty) instead.
- Additionally, I will be picking a winner at random from all of the comments on this entry. This winner will get a onesie or pillowcase of their choice from the winning entries.
- If you’d like extra chances to win, I will give you two entries in the contest if you blog or tweet about the contest. Be sure to leave a comment or send me an email to let me know that you blogged or tweeted!
- If I get enough entries that I end up using more than three ideas, anyone whose suggestion that I use will be given a onesie or pillowcase of their choice from the winning entries.
- The contest will run between now and 6pm on Tuesday, November 24th.
- I will post the winners (and the equivalent onesies) on Tuesday, December 1st.

onesie domo – yes, I am a geek, but I do think it would be cute 🙂
definitely cover the onesie with DIVA CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pick me!! I am awesome!
“Fresh out of the oven”
Lexi – I’m not sure if that would be a copyright/trademark violation in terms of selling them, but I’ll have to remember that for future geek presents!
I can personally vouch for the fact that Kristina P. is, indeed, awesome.
A Troll with actual fuzzy hair!
The troll would definitely make a statement!
do these have to be original, creative ideas? 🙂 i mean, i’m thinking random animals ( platypi! yaks! snails! skunks? ); musical instruments; vehicles like trains/boats/diggers; vegetables?( maybe Lisa could sell them at the market?!) none of which is very exciting, and probably available(not hand made) elsewhere, but it would be easy and cute.
hmm zombies. game controllers. spaceships. aliens of various random shapes and colours, with googly eyes.
you could take requests. you could team up with someone who can make arugumi(is that right? the little crochet animals) to match!
our company just re-branded and one of the swag items we could get with our coupon was a onesie with the new logo. heh.
Nancy, you totally win the completeness award! I love the idea of matching crotched animals. I have to think about this.
Skunks would be kindof hilarious….
fun!
“future bloger” … with a little laptop or something.

hehe i like “my parents met on the internet” also.
although… i think maybe the kids shirts with snap-capes is an even awesome-er etsy idea. i don’t think they’d even have to be super-man logo’d if that might be a problem for resale.
