Back in the US of A

We’re back!

And, I’m just putting this out there because so many people have asked… No I do not have any extra hardware of the bling variety.

Apparently going to Europe when you own a house together makes people assume that you will come back engaged.

I’m very sorry to disapoint everyone.

Actually, I’m not.

Apparently, going to Europe with the man that you love and having a great time allows you to make peace with silly expectations.

Or something like that.

Anyways, we had a fabulous time. I have about a week’s worth of vacation-y type things to recap and about a bazillion pictures to organize, post-process and upload. These should be done sometime around, oh, I don’t know, February. Because, holy cow, we own a house. Which means that there are all sorts of house-related things that we need to do. And family related things to catch up on. And I have about 17 baby quilts to sew before people start popping out their kids. And a whole bunch of vegetable seedlings that we can now plant in our garden boxes.

I’m pleased to announce that Kristian managed to only kill a few of my plants while I was gone.

And they were the kindof ugly ones.

One of these days, we’ll hang out with our friends again.

The cats are so happy that we’re home, they have been flinging themselves into my lap and meowing piteously. Tabitha bit me so hard it drew blood, but that’s just how she shows love.

My ten year high school reunion is coming up, which means that I have about three weeks to either manage to lose about ten pounds worth of wine and cheese weight or to find something really, really flattering to wear. I suppose this means that I need to go shopping.

We won’t talk about the 135 emails sitting in my work inbox because it’s just too depressing.

My CD release party is in about a month or so and I’ve done exactly zero planning for it. That’s not true, I’ve daydreamed about buying a really cute dress to wear for it.

And how did I use my weekend to catch up on all of this stuff that piled up while I was gone? Went to a BBQ where I played a lot of flip cup and then spent the rest of the weekend lounging on the couch and watching videos on Hulu. A trip to Beans’ family farm for some photos and a tasty grilled cheese sandwich were also involved.

I’d say it was a great weekend.

  1. Having people ask when you’re getting hitched all the time gets very old fast!! Believe me, my man and I have been together for 10 years now!

  2. “And they were the kind of ugly ones.”

    HA! Hilarious.

And it must be something about vacas in general… when we came back from Costa Rica, everyone asked the same thing! Uh, no… just enjoying the beach, thanks!
