Green is the New Black

Happy Earth Day everyone!

It’s heartening to think that the green movement has really taken off… and scary to think about how many things need to really and truly change.

We’ve made a few changes ourselves around here.

We’ve done the basics. Replaced as many bulbs as possible with CFLs. I take the bus to work as many days as possible. We turn off lights at night. We recycle. I brought my own mug into work so that I don’t need to use the disposable mugs.

We’ve also started composting. When I had my CDs made, I “splurged” on recycled packaging. We grow vegetables in the summer.

Of course, it all seems small in comparison to what needs to be done. But, it’s something.

What little things do you do to help the environment?

  1. I reduce, reuse and recycle everything that I can!!

  2. I worked with my colleagues in the Green Party to get £27.4m for local communities across Scotland who want to cut their carbon emissions. About £10m has gone out the door so far, and here’s a nice googlemap of who’s doing what.

Sorry for showing off. It’s still small, in comparison with what needs to be done, though..
