Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Well, we’ve finally gotten past the darkest time of the year. By which I mean, of course, the two months or so between the end of football season and the beginning of baseball season. The Patriots didn’t make the playoffs this year, so it was even longer and darker time.

Some people might take the Red Sox’ abysmal 3-6 start and say that maybe it’s not such a great thing that baseball season has started up again. But I am not one of these people. For one thing, I have loved baseball season ever since I was a wee child and the Red Sox were perennial losers. I’m a Sox fan. We have the acceptance of losing down to a science. The ability to continue loving the Sox after they’ve melted down in spectacular fashion is just as much a Boston quality as dropping your Rs, voting for Democrats and eating copious amounts of baked beans.

(Ok, I made the last one up)

At any rate… I love the Sox, I love baseball and nothing short of the total destruction of Fenway Park could dull my pleasure at the return of one of my two favorite sports.

Kristian, on the other hand…

Let’s just say that he’s not so happy that I’ll be monopolizing the remote between now and oh, say, February.

On a completely random note, I decided that I want to attend a game on my birthday this year. Which means that we only have tickets for September. So, if, uh, anyone feels the need to take a random blogger to a baseball game, I’m your girl!
