Weekend Roundup

This past weekend was one of those weekends where Monday rolls around and you realize, “Hey, we went through a whole weekend, but it kind of feels like yesterday was Friday.” It’s not that I had a bad weekend, it’s just that I’m not entirely sure where the time went. Or what exactly it is that we did.

Actually, that’s not entirely true. We slept. A lot. I can’t remember the last time I slept past about 10am, and yet, on both Saturday and Sunday, we managed to sleep until almost noon. I suppose that would literally make the weekend fly right by. And yet… I am still tired. And full of phlegm. Stupid germs.

Saturday is a bit of a blur. I believe that there was some TV involved. And, ummm, some TV. And I think I might have taken a nap.

We made up for our laziness by staying out all night at the Weisstronauts‘ 10th Annual Holiday Bash. On a scale of 1 to not lame, I’d say that the evening was an 11, aka awesome.

Pre-show dinner at a Mexican restaurant with a friend? Check.
Delicious girlie drink of deliciousness? Check. (Am light-weight. One drink is all it takes!)
Hanging out at the bar and laughing with more friends? Check.
Free drink tickets from someone I’ve never met? Check.
Kick ass music? Check.
Making friends with the drummer from one of the bands and his fiancée? Check.

The evening featured Mel singing a deliciously offbeat version of Santa Baby, an all-star lineup singing Do They Know it’s Christmas? and many other special holiday moments. Ho ho ho.

Sunday was spent cleaning dust out of our office. Seriously. Hours and hours spent cleaning up dust. Our cleaning bucket was grey by the time we were through. Let’s not speak of the dust anymore. I’m trying to repress those memories. Let’s just say that it should be a crime to plaster and sand a hallway with any of the doors of said hallway open and leave it at that. Worst. Contractor. EVAR.

Sunday night, we had a belated birthday dinner with my Mom (the original dinner had to be postponed as a result of TEH TERRIBLE GERMS!) Dust bad. Mom good. There was cheesecake. And truffles.

This whole “not gaining a bazillion pounds over the holidays” thing is not going so well.
