This is the letter that I got back in response to my complaint. I suppose that it’s satisfying, but it sure does sound an awful lot like the last response that they sent when I complained.

Thank you for your email regarding the behavior of the operator on bus route [number]. I am Marvin L. Jones and I’m filling in for Carrie, while she is on vacation and I appreciate hearing from you and we sincerely apologize for the operator’s behavior. There is no excuse for it.
We assure you that we do not tolerate this type of behavior. The type of behavior you describe goes against all the operator’s training.
The operator will be identified, interviewed and re-instructed on our proper procedures for the operation of his or her vehicle. At the very least it should have been explained what trip the operator was doing and I’m sure the operator was concerned about getting passengers out of the cold but should have stated what the trip time was.
Any further infractions may result in more severe disciplinary action. The MBTA has a progressive disciplinary policy, up to and including termination.
Again, we apologize for the operator’s actions. Thank you again for writing.
Sometimes it pays to write letters! And they addressed the actual complaint so it wasn’t just a form letter…well, half of it wasn’t anyway.
