The Sanchez/Roth household is please to announce the introduction of Sophie to our home. Tabitha is the only member of our family who remains unimpressed, but we are attempting to change her feelings with yogurt (her favorite people food) and extra cat treats.
Here is our lovely kitten, who currently tips the scale at 1.6 pounds:

As you can see, she doesn’t have much size on your standard rubber ducky.

So far, Sophie’s favorite place to hide is in the trashcan in our office. We hope that, by the time that we let her out into the rest of the house (she and Tabitha are in isolation from each other for the next two weeks), she will have outgrown this fondness for human garbage receptacles. At the very least, we hope that she stays away from the trashcans in the kitchen and bathroom (the office one is fine, seeing as how it’s just paper in there).

Sophie is quite the little napper and makes the most adorable little kitten snores.

Me (her proud mama), very happy to have her sleeping on my lap. So far, she’s taken two naps on my lap and she is currently curled up and appears to be getting ready for a third. In fact, I can say with conviction that she is definitely sleeping on my lap again. It is so sweet and endearing, it makes my heart just melt.
I was torn between my desire to enjoy the kitten nap and my desire to watch the second Red Sox game. But then the Rangers scored four more in the second to take a 5-0 lead and it’s looking to be a blowout (the kind where we lose). So, I think that I will stay here and enjoy the sleeping kitten. Who just jumped up and head-butted me.
I can’t win.
Oh, but who can complain when you’ve got a tiny ball of fur and affection head-butting you for kisses and chasing her tail on your lap?
