Happy Monday aka Marathon Monday aka Patriots Day.
You’ve got to love those made up holidays that give me a free day off and a chance to watch the Boston Marathon.
Today, I will be updating with little tidbits as my sister and I attemp to get into the Red Sox game and cheer the runners on. The cheering will take place after the game as the marathon course does not actually cut through Fenway Park.
Although it would be darn interesting if it did.

It’s a nice day out. Normally this would be a good thing… But now it’s going to be a lot harder to find someone attempting to unload Sox tickets.
—
It strikes me that European fans who break out into songs about their favorite team have the right idea. This packed subway car would be a lot less stressful if we were all singing.
—
Hate crowds. Hate crowds. Hate crowds. Hate crowds. Hate. Crowds.
Whose brilliant idea was this?
Oh wait. It was mine.
—
We just paid way too much money for bleacher seats. Are officially suckers. At least we’re in.
—
‘Tek just hit a homer. Who’s the sucker now?
Still us, but we’re having fun.

My iPhone crapped out halfway through the Sox game. Whoops! Well, we had a great time. Made friends with the people sitting near us. The Red Sox kicked some serious ass. We stayed until the bitter end (when you pay more than 4x the face value of your nose-bleed tickets, you’d best be getting your money’s worth).
When it was all over, we made our way outside and spent an hour or so cheering for marathon runners. What a rush! I love yelling people’s names as they run by and seeing them perk up. It’s not quite as glorious as actually running, but it’s strangely rewarding.
A good day, all around.
