Love and Car Bombs

(Pictured, the cupcake that I will be eating after lunch today)

I made a triple batch of earl grey cupcakes last night. I made one that was nice and big with heart cupcake paper (left over from Valentine’s Day). I then took pink M&Ms and decorated the top with the most artistically challenged heart ever.

While Kristian was distracted by a sink full of dirty dishes (he is apparently hard wired to have his blood pressure spike when you can’t see the counter next to the sink), I stole his car keys, snuck outside, and left the ginormous cupcake of pink m&m deliciosity for him to find in the morning. I should have gone for a joy ride while I was at it. Oh well, maybe next time.

When I got back inside, Kristian asked what I was doing and, because I am the world’s worst liar, I mumbled something about my keys and ran away. Luckily he was still in “must… clean… all… dishes….” mode and was easily distracted.

This morning Kristian was surprised by a little package, all wrapped up in tinfoil, sitting next to the shifter in his car. Because he is a crazy person, the first thing that he thought when he saw it was, “that kindof looks like a car bomb.” But, because I am also a crazy person, the first thing that I thought when I woke up this morning was “you know, that aluminum foil kindof looked like a car bomb.”

This is true love, people. When your particular flavors of crazy collide.

Kristian opened the top of his little package and peeked in to see chocolate and not C-4, so he drove to work happy. Little does he know, it’s C-4 covered in ganache*.

Muahahahahaha.

  2. It is a very cute cupcake!

I saw your comment about the curls rock stuff at *not that you asked* and was wondering if you’d be willing to share the exact name of this wonderous product so that I can wake up in the morning with perfectly curled hair.
