I work in academia, which means that we get a lot of holidays off. I guess they figure that, seeing as how we work jobs that, if we were in the business world, would pay us about 50% more, then the least they can do is to give us all of the major and not-so-major holidays off. You know… Columbus Day, Presidents’ Day, National Speak Like a Pirate Day…
This is why tomorrow I will be honoring our nation’s veterans by sleeping in and treating myself to a pedicure and coffee with my best bud. It’s the least I can do.
I’m looking forward to taking a day to relax and recharge my batteries a bit. I love getting up without the benefit of an alarm clock. Even better will be hanging out with Liza. I’m hoping to spend the afternoon taking pictures for my photo project and then I’m going to go play in the subway.
