Happy Valentines day, everyone! I almost feel guilty about abandoning Kristian for the weekend. Almost. Because, you know, he spent the day drinking beer and hanging out with a buddy that he hasn’t seen in a while. So, he couldn’t be happier. And, my sister Christina and I are currently babysitting so that our older sister can go on a much appreciated date with her husband. Which means that I’m being noble. Which means that Kristian’s not allowed to get mad at me.<\/p>\n

Plus, I bought him a balloon before we left that said “I love you a latte” and was shaped like a (rather phallic) coffee beverage.<\/p>\n

That has to count for something.<\/p>\n

It’s a Hallmark and mylar holiday, after all.<\/p>\n

We had an exciting day of sleeping on the bus followed by eating snacks on the bus followed by watching youtube videos on the bus. There was a brief stop at a Roy Rogers, where I purchased the only thing on the menu that didn’t look absolutely disgusting. Namely, two bottles of water. Then it was onward and NYCward. We made our way out to Brooklyn and that’s when it got totally crazy.<\/p>\n

Not only did we attend a birthday party for a small child, but there was cake. And goodie bags. And I pretended that I was a monster and chased the birthday boy around, screaming “Rawr! I’m going to eat you!” I was also a dinosaur at some point, but those are pretty much the same.<\/p>\n

There was also an unfortunate event involving small fingers and a door, but let’s not get into that.<\/p>\n

(Let’s just say that I might be the worst aunt ever)<\/p>\n

(And there were a lot of tears)<\/p>\n

We had some authentic New York pizza for dinner, but it was not famous, original or Ray’s. We also played baseball in the living room. I figured, hell if I’m going to be the worst aunt ever, I might as well have some fun while I’m at it.<\/p>\n
