Hope to amazon.com: why do you need a month to ship my stuff?<\/p>\n
Why? Why? Why?!?<\/p>\n
I know that I should have gone to a real, independently owned book store. Then, I would have my new books in my hands right now and I could be reading the sweet, sweet words within them. But, in my defense, I bought about 10 books and amazon’s low, low prices and free shipping were just too enticing.<\/p>\n
The price of my soul is 17% off cover price.<\/p>\n
Why do I need ten new books? Well, for one, I’ve found myself watching way too much tv lately. I have to admit, I’ve developed a rather unhealthy addiction to Mythbusters. An addiction that is not helped by the fact that I set our tivo to record any and all episodes. I have a few seasons to catch up on. What can I say? It’s a show that combines a love of science with a love of blowing shit up.<\/p>\n
So, in the interest of not turning my mind to complete mush via idiot box, I decided that it was high time that I start reading more. Because, when it’s 94 degrees outside, sometimes going out is just not an option. And, because I’m too lazy to go to the library (sorry Mom!), I figured buying books would be a good thing. I lubs me some paperbacks. I might have gone a little nuts with the clicking of the link for the adding to the shopping cart… But better to overdose on books than on crack I say. <\/p>\n
I am so proud of myself. I can rationalize almost anything.<\/p>\n
So, I logged into amazon today to see if I could be expecting my books anytime soon. And they say that my order will not ship until August 24th. AUGUST 24th! Gah! I ordered on July 24th! That’s a month! A month! How, in this day and age, does it take a MONTH to ship a few measly books domestically? Are they printing the pages out themselves? Do they have to ask the authors’ permission to ship me my copies? Have my books been exposed to a rare disease that requires a month’s quarantine?<\/p>\n
These books had better have details in them about a cure for cancer, pollution and world hunger. <\/p>\n
