I’m going to see my friend Jennie<\/a> this weekend. Yay! I haven’t seen Jennie in two years and I’m really looking forward to catching up with her. Add in brunch, fondue and a night at the ballet and I just might have to squee out loud. <\/p>\n

Ok, now I’m gonna have to go and do it…<\/p>\n

Of course, the hardest part of any trip is the packing. I am what you might call a chronic over-packer. Kristian is as well. This is why we often end up filling our station wagons for weekend trips. Lord help us when we decide to have kids. We’re going to need to rent a Ryder truck anytime we go on vacation.<\/p>\n

It’s just me this weekend, but I still spent quite some time throwing every adorable piece of clothing that I own into a little roll-y suitcase. And we all know how adorable my clothing is. I don’t know what Harry Potter magic I worked, but somehow it all went into a suitcase that should fit in an overhead bin.<\/p>\n

Damn terrorists and their damn liquids. It makes absolutely no sense to check a bag for a flight that’s only going to last about an hour and a half. Except that if I carry on my suitcase, I can’t bring any shampoo. Or conditioner. Or moisturizer. Or shaving cream. Or hair gunk. Which means that, over the course of the weekend, I might just go from fairly normal (note, I said fairly!) to stinky, hairy and frizzy. I don’t believe that the dress code at the ballet calls for hairiness or BO. <\/p>\n

Yes, I am high maintenance. No, I don’t usually bring an entire cosmetics store with me when we do things like camping. Yes, I am aware of the fact that I am very silly. <\/p>\n
