Well, I survived my short weekend, which is good. And, I found out that I automatically get paid double-time for working today. It being a holiday and all. So, that’s even better. MLK Day might not bring about racial harmony, but I suppose that it will be bringing me an extra big paycheck this week.<\/p>\n
When we were younger, my sisters and I used to make a chocolate cake and decorate it to look like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in celebration of his holiday. And then eat it. I think that maybe it’s a bit of a twisted way of celebrating. I also think that I want cake now.<\/p>\n
Of course, now I have to go back to work tomorrow and it feels like I never had a weekend (Jeff, if you’re reading this, it’s ok! I don’t mind!) So, because I am a good little consumer whore, I’d like to buy something not too expensive, but still slightly decadent. To, you know, make myself feel better. Consumer debt is what makes America strong<\/i>! What are you a I’m thinking about these boots<\/a> (more money than I’d like to spend, but I do<\/i> need new rain boots) or these shoes<\/a>. Or possibly this bag<\/a>. Ha! I mean, it’s marked down to $1,116.00 from $1,395.00. How could I afford not to?<\/p>\n True confession: I own a Prada bag. It has like, the “this is a Prada bag, no lies!” cards to go with it and everything. Someone gave it to me because they were going to throw it out. Because it is oh so very ugly. A Prada bag that was made in the 80’s is still a Prada bag, I suppose. Even if the outer layer is actively coming off in large flakes. I keep my makeup in it. Because, well, it’s a good size. And if I ever wanted to get snooty with someone, I could say “well let’s just see what my Prada bag<\/i> has to say about that! Huffuffuf!” And hit the person over the head with it. I think that I just might enjoy doing that. Especially if the person got snooty with me in the first place.<\/p>\n What do y’all think?
