This time tomorrow, we’ll be on our way to the airport. Thirty-three hours from now, we’ll be in LA.

But who’s counting, right?

I’m nervous about running this half-marathon, but I’m also incredibly excited about it. I’ve worked long and hard for this. I only have to run about 3 miles more than my longest training run. And I’ll have my sister with me, every step of the way. I can’t think of anything more encouraging. And, let’s be honest here, there’s no way I’m going to be able to wimp out with her right there. And Kristian waiting at the finish line. The mocking, it would burn us.

Plus, I am going to make Kristian take me to In N Out burger when I’m done. I figure that running 13.1 miles is the perfect excuse to get a jungle-style burger, fries AND a chocolate shake.

I like to cancel out my hard work with fast food.

It’s all about balance, right?

I also have a massage booked for Monday. I have a feeling that this might be the greatest massage of my life. You know that feeling of a hot shower after a long workout and how it just feels like the most wonderful, most relaxing thing you’ve ever done in your entire life? (The couch potatoes in the audience are all looking at me with confusion) Add in some strong fingers, some massage oil and I just might melt right there on the table.

I’ll be posting brief updates and photos from the road. And I’ll definitely let everyone know if I finish!

This time tomorrow, we’ll be on our way to the airport.
