I had about two days worth of our trip done while working on the plane when my laptop battery died and I was forced to watch an episode of &#8220;Everyone Hates Chris&#8221; in order to drown out the screams of the infant three rows behind us and the cries of the little girl sitting right in front of us. Now I&#8217;m jet-lagged and tired and in no position to write anything about anything.<\/p>\n<p>So, to tide you over before the munificentness that will be my travel diary, here are a few random musings. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Apparently I neglected to tell my friend Brian that we would be leaving the country. He sent me an article for the Cleo newsletter that I&#8217;m putting together and then followed up with a phone call. Then, we he didn&#8217;t hear from me in almost a week, he started to worry that something bad had happened to me. Oops. Note to self: look into using an automated vacation notice reply email on personal email account lest I return from my next trip to the site of myself on a milk carton.\n<p>Something like this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/hopers\/373652813\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/121\/373652813_b61b88d0b6_m.jpg?resize=125%2C240\" width=\"125\" height=\"240\" alt=\"Milk Carton\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nClick for Full-Size<\/center><\/p>\n<li>I don&#8217;t understand why child tickets on planes are cheaper than the fares for us regular adults. They still take up a full seat and they are way more annoying to their fellow passengers than any adult (except for any adult who has chugged an entire bottle of duty free vodka). Therefore I think that any child should cost at least three times times as much as a regular fare. Four times if they&#8217;re teething. Only two times if the parents agree to tranquilize them ahead of time. :p\n<li>Apparently my <a href = \"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/hopers\/tags\/dmitri\/\">nephew<\/a> started crawling, standing up on his own and eating solid food over the weekend. I always said that the kid was advanced!\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s all I have for now. I&#8217;m totally exhausted.
