Last night, we took my Dad to the Redbones<\/a> Northwest Brew Dinner. They ship a bunch of kegs out from the Pacific Northwest and have a couple of evenings where you can drink all you want (until the kegs run out) and there’s all-you-can-eat Redbones BBQ. My Dad had a great time. The beer was delicious, the food was free-flowing and they even sang happy birthday to him and gave him a baseball cap.<\/p>\n

Even I got fussed over! The buffet was all meat, soaked in meat, with meat topping. So, for poor little vegetarian me, Kristian went and asked if they had a non-dead-animal option. They handed me a menu and said, “order what ever you want!” I felt like a kid in some kind of shop. I suppose a “free vegetarian food” shop. I picked out a few things (garlic mashed potatoes? yes please! screw you Dr. Atkins.) and the waitress said, “that’s it?!” So, she added corn pudding to my order. Thank you, waitress whose name I didn’t get! Forcing more free food on me! You rock!<\/p>\n

I woke up this morning, not with a hangover but with a foodover. <\/p>\n

Speaking of waking up this morning, I really didn’t. You’ve gotta love it when the kitten smacks you in the face, you look up and say “oh fuck, I have to be at work in two minutes.” It really starts the day on a hight note. And by high note I mean, “put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.”<\/p>\n

I set a land speed record for showering, but I did not<\/i> manage to get out of the house and off to work in two minutes.<\/p>\n

Grrr.<\/p>\n

Luckily, there is no bad mood that can’t be fixed by an evening spent baking earl grey cupcakes (with chocolate earl grey ganache frosting) and then watching “What Not to Wear.” Sugar? Check. Chocolate? Check. Caffeine? Check. Snark? Check. Cute clothes? check. Somebody please nominate me for a makeover show so that I can have some pretty new outfits and have a professional makeup artist make my cheeks all rosy.
